The Definitive Anaesthetic Trauma Care (DATC) course is developed under the auspices of the Portuguese Steering Committee of the International Association for Trauma Surgery and Intensive Care (IATSIC).
The DATC is an intensive course comprising pre-course online-lectures, lectures, interactive case discussions and trauma management simulation, designed to teach qualified anaesthesiologists and advanced anaesthesia trainees, knowledge, skills, strategic thinking and decision-making in the management of the severely injured patients.
The DATC course runs simultaneously with the Definitive Surgical Trauma Care course (DSTC) course for surgeons and the Definitive Perioperative Nurses Trauma Care (DPNTC) course for nurses.
DATC candidates participate in lectures, interactive case discussions and live animal session with their DSTC colleagues, re-enacting a trauma operating room.
The lectures will be presented in English, Portuguese or in Spanish.
